Welcome to Foreign Daddy.
Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully. These Terms govern your access to and use of our website (www.foreigndaddy.com) and serve as the service contract for any trips, safaris, or travel services booked with us.
By accessing our website or booking a trip with us, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.
PART 1: TERMS OF WEBSITE USE
1.1 Accessing Our Site
- Availability: Our site is made available free of charge. We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue, or change all or any part of our site without notice.
- User Responsibility: You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to our site and for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these Terms.
1.2 Intellectual Property Rights
- Ownership: We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site and in the material published on it (including itineraries, blog posts, and photography). Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world.
- Usage: You may print off one copy and download extracts of any page(s) from our site for your personal use. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded.
- Restrictions: You must not use any part of the content on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a license to do so from us.
1.3 Accuracy of Information
The content on our site is provided for general information only. While we make reasonable efforts to update the information (such as pricing and itinerary details), we make no representations, warranties, or guarantees that the content on our site is accurate, complete, or up-to-date at all times. Pricing and availability of tours are subject to change until a booking is confirmed.
1.4 Prohibited Uses
You may use our site only for lawful purposes. You may not use our site:
- In any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law.
- To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, or any other harmful programs.
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to our site, the server on which our site is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to our site.
PART 2: BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
2.1 Booking & Payment Policy
- Deposit: To secure a reservation, a deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is required. This deposit covers the purchase of entry permits and lodge retainers.
- Balance Payment: The remaining balance is due 45 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.
- Last-Minute Bookings: For bookings made within 45 days of departure, 100% full payment is required immediately upon booking.
- Payment Methods: We accept international bank transfers (SWIFT), credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex via secure link), and cash for on-ground expenses.
2.2 Cancellation & Refund Policy
If you must cancel your trip, you must notify Foreign Daddy in writing. Refunds are calculated based on the date we receive your written notification:
- 60+ Days before travel: 90% refund of the trip cost (excluding Permit fees).
- Less than 60 Days before travel: Cancellation fees will apply as specified in your booking quotation. If not specified, standard lodge cancellation policies will apply.
- Non-Refundable Permits: Strictly Note: Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits (approx. $800 Uganda / $1,500 Rwanda) are 100% non-refundable once purchased, regardless of the time of cancellation, in accordance with Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and Rwanda Development Board (RDB) regulations.
2.3 Changes to Itinerary
- By the Traveler: If you wish to make changes to your confirmed booking, we will do our best to accommodate them, but we cannot guarantee availability. Any extra costs incurred by these changes will be charged to you.
- By Foreign Daddy: We reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., road closures, weather, lodge overbooking). In such cases, we will provide an alternative of equal or higher standard.
PART 3: TRAVELER RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Entry Requirements (Visas & Passports)
It is the sole responsibility of the traveller to ensure they possess valid travel documents.
- Visas: You must obtain the necessary E-Visas for Uganda and/or Rwanda prior to travel. We recommend the East Africa Tourist Visa for multi-country trips.
- Passports: Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry.
3.2 Health & Vaccinations
- Yellow Fever: A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry into Uganda and Rwanda. Failure to produce this may result in denied entry.
- Fitness for Trekking, hiking: and hiking trips require a moderate level of fitness. Travellers with mobility issues must inform us in advance to arrange adequate facilities (additional fees may apply).
- Dietary Needs: Travellers must inform us of any dietary restrictions (Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Halal) at the time of booking.
3.3 Wildlife & Safety Rules
- Age Limits: The strict minimum age for Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking is 15 years. No refunds are provided if a traveler is denied trekking due to age.
- Conduct: Travellers must adhere to the instructions of park rangers and guides at all times. Flash photography is strictly prohibited near wildlife.
- Right of Refusal: Park authorities reserve the right to refuse participation to any person who appears ill (e.g., flu, cough) to protect the primates. In such events, the permit cost is non-refundable.
PART 4: LIABILITY & LEGAL
4.1 Limitation of Liability
Foreign Daddy acts as an agent for transport companies, hotels, and other contractors. While we exercise the utmost care in selecting our partners:
- We accept no liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity that may be caused to person or property. We recommend that you obtain travel insurance for your trip.
- We accept no liability for failure to perform obligations due to Force Majeure events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government restrictions, or extreme weather).
- We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment due to your use of our website.
4.2 Travel Insurance
Comprehensive Travel Insurance is mandatory for all travellers. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy covers medical evacuation, repatriation, personal injury, and cancellation/curtailment of the trip.
4.3 Governing Law
These Terms, their subject matter, and their formation are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. You and we both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
