How do I book a trip with Foreign Daddy?
It’s simple! Browse our itineraries on the site and click the “Enquire” or “Book Now” button. You can also message us directly via WhatsApp or email. One of our travel experts will confirm availability and send you a secure invoice to pay your deposit.
Do I need to pay the full amount upfront?
No. We typically require a 30% deposit to secure your tour entry permits and lodge bookings. The remaining balance is due 45 days before your arrival. For last-minute bookings (less than 45 days out), full payment is required.There is no one ‘best’ place to stay in Yellowstone. There are many nice lodges inside the park and also lots of accommodation options nearby. That being said, if your budget allows it and there is availability, the Canyon area offers the best location for sightseeing.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept international bank transfers (SWIFT) and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) via our secure online payment link. We also accept cash payments (USD, Euros, or Pounds, local currency) for on-the-ground expenses.There is no one ‘best’ place to stay in Yellowstone. What is your cancellation policy?
We understand plans change.
- 60+ days before travel: 90% refund (excluding permit fees).
- Less than 60 days: Terms will be specified on the quotation provided

Preparation & Health
Do I need a Visa?
- Uganda: You must apply for an E-Visa online before travel.
- Rwanda: Most nationalities can get a visa on arrival, but checking the latest rules is best.
- East Africa Tourist Visa: If you are visiting both countries (plus Kenya), we highly recommend the single East Africa Tourist Visa ($100).

Are vaccinations required?
Yes. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry into Uganda and Rwanda. We also strongly recommend malaria prophylaxis, as you will be travelling in the tropics.
What should I pack?
For safaris and trekking, pack:
- Lightweight clothing
- Sturdy hiking boots with good grip.
- A rain jacket or poncho (even in dry season).
- Insect repellent and sunscreen.
- A warm sweater for cold mornings/evenings.
Gorilla Trekking Essentials
How fit do I need to be for Gorilla Trekking?
Trekking conditions vary. In Rwanda (Volcanoes National Park), hikes can be shorter but steeper. In Uganda (Bwindi), the terrain is dense and hilly. A moderate level of fitness is recommended. If you have mobility issues, let us know in advance—we can arrange sedan chair carriers (African Helicopters) for an additional fee.It’s simple! Are the permits included in the price?
Yes! All our quoted trekking packages include the cost of the government permit ($800 for Uganda / $1,500 for Rwanda). We handle the booking paperwork for you.
What is the minimum age for trekking?
The strict minimum age is 15 years old for both Uganda and Rwanda. There are no exceptions to this government rule.
Can I take photos of the gorillas?

On The Trip
Is it safe to drink the water?
We advise against drinking tap water. We provide unlimited bottled mineral water in our safari vehicles. Lodges also provide filtered or bottled water for brushing teeth and drinking.
What kind of vehicles do you use?
We use custom-built 4×4 Safari Land Cruisers and vans. Land Cruisers feature pop-up roofs for 360-degree game viewing, charging ports for your cameras, and a fridge to keep drinks cold.Yes! I have dietary restrictions. Can you accommodate them?
Yes. Whether you are vegetarian, gluten-free, or halal, just let us know when booking. All our partner lodges are experienced in catering to diverse dietary needs.
Do I need to tip?
Tipping is not mandatory but is highly appreciated in East Africa.
- Safari Driver/Guide: $20–$40 at the end of the trip.
- Gorilla Trackers/Rangers: $10–$15 per trek.
Lodge Staff: Usually there is a general “Tip Box” at reception. If none, you can tip $20-$40 at the end of the trip.
